Retirement

by Ron Martin - Aug 2006

Was walking around in my back yard reminiscing a bit this morning. On the third day of my retirement I was beginning to wonder why I closed the shop down.

It was fun. I really enjoyed myself working at the shop. Felt good about what I was doing and all that stuff that is supposed to make life meaningful.

Now all that is gone. Just memories and a few left over pieces of stock. Kind of sad.

Thought I would work on a tree to raise my spirits.

Black olives are fun to work with and this is the best time of the year to work on them. Middle of the summer when the heat is blowing the top off the old thermometer.

This morning I grabbed my morning cup of coffee and went out back to see what black olives are still there. Figured left over’s would be better than nothing.

Didn’t take too long to get my spirits up. Look what I found ;o)

Now I know why I retired . They are mine, all mine. Time to play

Guess retirement does have some perks. Might even be more fun than working.

Might even be a tree or two in there for a workshop or a demo. Never know ;o)
